Can I stop for a minute and just talk about how amazed I am with the talent and inspiration that has gone into the creation of so many of the Tarot decks in circulation. I'm beginning to include links to the decks I use in the image above if you are interested in acquiring one.
Today's card is another fiery wand card - the III of Wands, although less roaring fire and more slow-burn. The III of Wands is card about preparation and oversight. It's about being the Wicked Witch of the West and sending off your monkeys with a cackle and a "Fly, my pretties!"
Message of the day: Pretty much all of the cards in the Tarot have both negative and positive meanings depending on the question asked, the position in the spread, and its orientation. So just as this card is symbolic of organized preparation, and it can also be corrupted as representation of being an anal-retentive micromanager or maybe that kid in school who freaked out because they got a B on a test instead of A.
There is much in life we CAN control, but SO much more that we can't. Learning how to be ok with things outside of our control is an ongoing effort for all of us, I think. Perspective is key but preparation is also important to a degree. There are some safeguards we can put up to help cushion that anxiety (like having 6 months of savings in case of the unforeseen), but ultimately we have to learn to take it as it comes. Where do you fall in the preparation spectrum? Do you get bothered when things don't go to plan or are you able to shake it off and roll with it?
With Christmas around the corner, I can already see peoples' anxiety levels peaking as they freak out over schedules, meal prep, mail deliveries, and making the "perfect" Christmas. Take a breath and step back. Big picture. Does it matter if dinner is 30 minutes later or a gift is a day late (as long as not my gift, kthnxbai)? You're allowed to live and enjoy the moment just like everyone else.
