Day 10: Still positive. Fucksox. <insert the biggest eye-roll of your life here>
When I pull these daily cards, I always call out for a card that represents the collective good, but I swear these cards have been all for me this week. Today's Knight of Pentacles is no exception, telling me to keep my head down and persevere to get through this fucking virus (again, Pentacles = health and wellness). Well slow and steady today can kiss my ass. :)
Knights in Tarot tend to represent "the little engine who could" with varying personality differences and motivations. They are great at getting things done and have high-action personalities. The Knight of Pentacles is probably the most subdued of the Knights and has his feet grounded in progress and the plans required for being successful. Maybe he's slow, but he's methodical and steady-going. He may not be the first to win the race, but he'll finish and do so according to his own plans.
Message of the Day: Traditionally, the Knight of Pentacles represents the slow-moving momentum of a project or event and is typically met with positive connotations. It's about taking the time to set your plans and map your progress for the biggest chance of success. Think of a farmer who must plan ahead to prepare his fields, ensure adequate nutrients and water, and plant and harvest at the correct times to pull in the biggest harvest. It's a long and slow process, but the end results will sustain him through the next season.
But when we look closely at the Knight of Pentacles, I feel like we have to acknowledge that planning and such is great, but there is also the risk of turning this steady workhorse into an X of Wands - overburdened because you insist on doing everything yourself. Or maybe even a VI of Wands: assuming control of a project or task at the annoyance and behest of others around you. Control is necessary to have measured progress, but at some point we must be careful that control does not become all-consuming, turning us into anxiety-riddled control freaks who mandate that every detail must be completed as planned.
So today's message of the day is to look at the tasks you have before you and ask yourself if you have the support in place to help you be successful. This could be shared task management or simply having the resources to release at the end of a hard day. What can you do to help you find a balanced mindset of work, control, and fulfillment?
