The Star

I had a virtual call with the doctor yesterday who gave me the all-clear on Covid. She said as long as I don't have fever, and I'm past five days since the onset of symptoms, I should be good even if I still test positive. She said some people still test positive up to 90 days from the initial diagnosis. So yasssss, I'm back!

Today's card is The Star. It is the card of Hope and falls, fittingly, right after The Tower in the Major Arcana. If you follow Tarot, The Tower is a card of absolute destruction, the collapse of something significant. When you are torn down and have fallen; when you are stripped bare and humbled, you will then begin to find hope in your dreams, that the Universe will once again provide.

Message of the Day: If we're honest with ourselves, there are things in each of our lives that are fucking hard. Everyone has their own unique mountain to scale, and sometimes those peaks are cataclysmically difficult to get past. Divorce, the death of a parent or child, post-partum, the loss of a job or sense of financial stability, cancer or some other serious health concern... these are not little things. They are big fucking things that are scary and life-changing.

While The Star is here to provide some respite, a sort of "calm after the storm," I feel The Star is more about acceptance and self-healing. There is a part of us that has been utterly obliterated, and finding the courage and the direction back to some semblance of "normality" is a daunting task, especially since there may not be a way back to how things were before. Not only does that fucking suck, but it's scary to have to move forward blindly.

The Star is about finding acceptance in your naked, humble state, looking to the sky and finding that magical blue star, and wishing for your dreams like you're a 6-year-old who just watched Pinocchio. It's about falling to your knees in earnest prayer and pouring your heart into the Universe, finding faith that not only will you get past this, but things will be better.

The Star invites you to seek out inspiration and embrace the positivity that comes with faith, newness, and the dreams of the sincere. It's okay to grieve and feel loss, but it is not ok to live in loss and let it dim the light of The Star when there is so much the Universe has to offer.
