The Moon
Greetings Tuesday Travelers! Let me just pause and say that the weather extremes we have leave me scratching my head. It's not just the hot/cold/hot/freeze/hot, but the extreme rain (amiright California!?) and now, for us, wind. I'm gonna need to find me some weather Tarot cards just to help predict what to wear this afternoon. Officially #overit.
Today's card is The Moon - and if I can pause another sec to draw your attention to the version of The Moon from the Terra Volatile. It's gorgeous. The whole deck is just beautiful - and I'm not being paid to say that.
As a kid, I was always drawn to the sun/moon motif, and I still find it somewhat enchanting. The idea of the Moonlight carving a path to your destination is mystical, enchanting, and beautiful to picture. Of course, in Tarot, the Moon isn't so innocent... but it has good intentions! It is, after all, a step on the journey of enlightenment.

Message of the Day: The themes in The Moon card are kind'a dark with traces of light, just like when we stand in the moonlight at night; we can see... sorta... just enough to show us what's around us; but sometimes things in the shadows aren't quite what they seem.
Conceptually, The Moon represents illusions, delusions, and misconceptions... but these are not nefarious, like someone is out to get us. These shadows are the lies we tell ourselves to make us feel better about who we are, our inadequacies, and the world we live in. It is a battle between the ego and id, between our conscious and subconscious. I mean, this is a kind'a hard concept to wrap your head around - that we willingly lie to ourselves to prevent ourselves from working through the truth. And THAT is what The Moon is guiding us to do: it lights the path so we can walk between the wild and tame down to the waters where our darkest parts swim.
We have to remember that our path is one of self-betterment and enlightenment, with the goal to be the best YOU you can be. Our journey into night is filled with monsters of our own making and we are the only ones who can vanquish them so that we can stand tall in The Sun.
The Moon illuminates our fears, secrets, anxieties, and distrust and encourages us to face them head on. What about you is difficult to look at or accept? What insecurities and fears do you keep inside that keep you moving forward? Fear of being seen as inadequate? Different? Other? Fear that you aren't living up to the expectations that you think others have set for you? Afraid that you won't live up to your OWN expectations? How do these fears show up in your life and keep you from The Sun?
